Development activity intended for...
This is a series of half day sessions for NQTs teaching geography in Staffordshire secondary and middle schools as is offered as part of the NQT support package. There will be half a day per term over the academic year 2009 - 2010.
 
Aim of development activity...
to network secondary geography teachers in their first year of teaching; to share ideas and resources for teaching geography for mutual benefit; to discuss progress during the induction year and provide support for professional development;
 
The objectives of the development activity are...
to review progress to date; to discuss any issues and areas of concern; to seek opportunities and areas of development; to share ideas and resources for teaching geography.
 
Outline of learning methods
There will be a mix of tutor input and support and group discussions with opportunities to have a go at some practical activities.
 
Additional information
The reduced cost of this session is available to those schools who have subscribed to the support package of support for NQTs. Teachers from other schools may attend at a half day rate. A further meeting will be held in the Spring Term.
