Newly Qualified Teachers, Graduate Trainees and those teachers in their second year of teaching in primary schools who are not geography specialists or had much geography input during their training. |

This day will provide an introduction to teaching geography in the primary school for those with very little experience in the subject. |

| to bring geography alive for teachers;
to try out a range of practical activities which can be used in the classroom;
to explore the requirements of National Curriculum geography and looking forward to opportunities within the new Primary Curriculum. |

| There will be a mix of tutor led discussions and small group activities. There may be a short practical session outside (depending on the weather!) |
| |

There may be an outdoor element to this course, come prepared for a walk in the locality. |
